Getting started

Your first adventures

Logged in? These are the best places to begin.

Teleport anywhere

Cast Server Teleports from your spellbook, or type ::teleports. It is free and needs no runes.

Take on challenges

Open the Challenges tab (or ::challenges) for daily, weekly and monthly goals and their rewards.

Raise a companion

Got a pet? Drop it and it fights beside you. Its panel, the paw icon, shows its level and fighting mode.

Choose your god

Visit the Hall of the Five beside Edgeville Monastery (::hall) or type ::god to pledge your allegiance.

Play with classic point-and-click, switch to WASD in the close camera, or use touch on your phone.

Do I need to download anything or install Java?

No. Aetheria runs entirely in your web browser on desktop and mobile. There is no client to download, no launcher and no Java to install. Press Play Now and the game opens at play.aetheriaps.com.

Is Aetheria free to play?

Yes. Aetheria is free to play. Create a character and start your adventure at no cost.

Can I play on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Open play.aetheriaps.com in your phone or tablet browser. Tap to move and interact, hold for options and drag to turn the camera. No app store is needed, and your character is the same on every device.

How do I create an account?

Press Play Now, then log in with the name and password you want. If the name is new, your character is created on the spot. Use the same name and password next time, and keep your password to yourself.

How do I use WASD movement?

Press the backquote key (`), above Tab, to switch to the close camera. Then WASD moves, Shift runs, Alt (or Option) toggles mouse look and Space interacts. Press ` again to return to classic click-to-walk. All controls

How do I add Aetheria to my home screen?

Open the game with Play Now, then:

  • iPhone and iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the menu (three dots), then Add to Home screen.
The game will not load or shows a blank screen
  1. Refresh the page and give it a moment: the first visit loads the game world, so it takes a little longer.
  2. Make sure your browser is up to date.
  3. Check your internet connection.
  4. Browser extensions such as ad or script blockers can interfere. Try pausing them for the game, or use a private window.
  5. Still stuck? Try a different browser.
The game looks too small or too large

On a computer, use your browser zoom: Ctrl and + or - on Windows, or Cmd and + or - on a Mac. Ctrl + 0 (or Cmd + 0) resets it. On a phone, try rotating your device.

Which browsers work best?

Use an up-to-date browser and a stable internet connection. On a computer, the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari works best. On a phone or tablet, use Safari on iPhone and iPad or Chrome on Android. Keep the game in its own tab so it is easy to return to.

Where can I find official links?

The game is played at play.aetheriaps.com, and every Play Now button on this website opens it. Aetheria never asks you to download or install anything: if a site offers you an Aetheria download, it is not us.
