Aetheria Wiki

Getting Started

Create a character, find your way around Edgeville and learn the first things to do in Aetheria.

Create your character

  1. Open the game at play.aetheriaps.com. It runs in your browser on desktop and mobile; there is nothing to download.
  2. Log in with the name and password you want. If the name is new, your character is created on the spot. Use the same name and password next time. You can change your password later with ::changepassword.
  3. Design your character's look.
  4. Choose a god. Right after the design screen you are offered one of the five gods of Divine Allegiance. If you are not sure yet, pick Decide later: the offer stays open with ::god and at the Hall of the Five.
No tutorial island. You go straight into the world and start in Edgeville, the home town of Aetheria.

Edgeville, your home

Edgeville is where new characters start and where the Home Teleport spell (or ::home) takes you. From there:

  • The Hall of the Five stands beside Edgeville Monastery, a short walk south-west of town: the hub of Divine Allegiance. ::hall teleports you there.
  • Edgeville Dungeon is under the town, and the Wilderness begins just to the north. The Wilderness is dangerous: other players can attack you there.

Double experience

Aetheria runs at 2× experience in every skill, so levels come twice as fast as the standard rate. See Skills for training spots. If you want to stop gaining experience (for example to keep a low combat level), ::lockxp toggles an experience lock.

First things to do

Teleport anywhere

Cast Server Teleports from the standard spellbook (it replaces Varrock Teleport) or type ::teleports. It is free and needs no runes. The Training tab lists combat spots from low to high level. Teleports

Take on challenges

The Challenges tab (the old Account Management tab) gives you five daily, weekly and monthly goals with coins, reward caskets and crystal keys. Challenges

Pick your god

Following a god earns Devotion from almost everything you do and unlocks blessings and a Divine Rage ultimate. Compare the gods

Get a Slayer task

Slayer masters are in the Places tab of the teleport menu. Slayer tasks also earn Devotion and count toward challenges. Slayer masters

Trade

The Grand Exchange opens anywhere with ::ge, and ::gecollect opens its collection box.

Raise a pet

Rare boss pets fight beside you and level up. The paw icon in the sidebar (or ::companion) opens the companion panel. Pet Companions

Choose your controls

Play the classic way (click to walk, right-click for options), or press the backquote key (`, above Tab) to switch to the close camera and steer with WASD. On a phone, tap, hold and drag, or plug in a controller. WASD Mode · Controller · All controls

Make some money

Daily challenges and commissions pay coins from day one, and almost anything you gather sells on the Grand Exchange. Money Making

Talk to people

Click the Voice button (where Report used to be, at the bottom right of the chat box) to hear nearby players, and again to turn your microphone on. Voice Chat

Useful settings

  • ::settings opens the game settings and ::keybinds the key bindings.
  • The Configuration button in the client toolbar turns built-in plugins on and off, such as Ground Items, XP Tracker and Quest Helper. Client plugins
  • ::commands lists every command you can use, and you can search it: ::commands tele.

Staying safe

  • Keep your password to yourself. Staff will never ask for it.
  • When you die, most of what you carried waits for you at a gravestone for 15 minutes. Death & Gravestones
  • Found a bug? Type ::bug or use Report a Bug in the sidebar.
